You’ve got the jeans, you’ve got the shoes, but you might as well be staring at an unsolvable math equation! The train is coming and you only have a few minutes to figure out how fast it’s going! Don’t fret because we are here to help you figure out the impossible jeans + shoe equation. Especially now that the straight leg jean is in the mix and here to stay, we need to re-look at our potential shoe options. Add in a flare and suddenly there is another train involved in the equation. Those multi-steppers are such a bugger! When it doubt, you’ve got to break it down….
The High Shaft Bootie
One of most versatile shoes to add to your collection this fall is the high shaft bootie (otherwise known as the sock bootie). This means the shaft of the boot comes over your ankle bone. Whether it’s a low heel or higher heel this will be your go to boot with all your jeans! From the slim straight to the super flare this boot fits seamlessly right under the hem of your jeans. Style Tip// I would recommend steering away form pairing your super skinny jeans with the high shaft bootie, unless you can tuck the hem of your jeans into the boot with little bulk.

The Fashion Sneaker
Most days I am in sneakers, running from the bus to the office to after school sports. I like pairing my sneakers with jeans that have a more relaxed fit. This way the whole outfit feels a little more casual. I like a little ankle showing with my sneakers + denim combos. Style Tip // When wearing a flare, opt for a shorter length so the hem of the jeans isn’t dragging.

Flats, Mules & Clogs
And then there are all the backless shoes! Maybe it’s because there is less of the shoe, so I usually pair these types of shoes with an ankle length jean. From skinny to flared or even wide leg, I like to make sure the length is a tad cropped. That way there is more room to show off those cute shoes.

The Lug Sole Boot
The Lug Sole Boot gained lots of popularity and for some this is the all weather boot worn most of the winter. The skinny jean is the easy answer for this boot. The shaft is usually a wider fit so the hem of the jean can easily be tucked inside. The other option is to wear a straight jean with a wider hem to comfortably fit over the boot. The Lug Sole usually offers a bit of a heel so a longer straight jean can also work here.
