Thank you to Nordstrom and ShopStyle Collective for sponsoring this post.
Do you remember? The 21st night of September? Now the goal of this post is to distract you with really pretty fall wedding guest dresses so you get that song out of your head. I tried to get an even 10 options for you, but I couldn’t zip one of them up (hey, it happens) so I have nine beautiful, dance-floor-worthy dresses for you to wear to a wedding this season. I curated an assortment of price points and (some less than $100, some over $300), and a variety of styles – long, short, florals and cut-outs all from Nordstrom’s beautiful dress selection. You will find a little mix of current trends with timeless silhouettes. At the end of this post we have an accessories shop for all of the pieces to wear with your ensemble.
Dress 1 // Black Tie Optional
Dress | Shoes | Clutch (old, similar)
It’s always a good idea to go navy. This dress is chic, sophisticated and fluid – if only you could feel this amazing fabric. The high-low skirt drapes beautifully and it is a true wrap style dress. I am 5’4 and the back hem was a few inches of the ground with a low heel. This dress looks (and feels) SO expensive, but would you believe it if I told you it is only $74?! I am wearing size XS for reference and think it runs true (size down if between).
Dress 2 // City Wedding at a Posh Hotel
Dress | Sandals
Holy gorgeous. The fabric in this Saylor dress is pretty incredible – metallic threading makes this dress sparkle in all the right ways. The long sleeve and skirt off-set the sexy cut-outs so you can wear this without feeling overly exposed. I am wearing size XS and think it runs true, but would size up if between.
Dress Three // Modern City Vibe
Dress | Shoes | Clutch (old, similar here)
Minimal and modern, but still eye catching – this dress is just that. It has a body-con fit with curve-hugging rouching and peek-a-boo cut out in a very flattering spot. This dress is also under $100 and pairs well with accessories that pop.
Dress 4 // Vineyard Wedding
Dress | Shoes | Clutch (old, similar here)
Dark grounded florals for the win in this cascading wrap-style dress. The long-sleeves and maxi skirt are great for cooler fall temperatures and this dress can be both casual and dressy based on the shoes/accessories selections. I am wearing size XS, size down if between. The description says it is a midi dress, but felt more like a maxi dress on me. Also under $100!
Dress 5 // Outdoor or Barn Wedding
Dress | Shoes
This flirty ASOS dress is fun x 10! This short, saucy little number was made for the dance-floor. There is a lot packed into this dress – voluminous balloon sleeves, ruffle-hem skirt and a small cut out in the back. This dress works best for small chested gals – runs small so size up! I am wearing XS and could barely zip the back.
Dress 6 // Casual Day Wedding
Dress | Sandals | Clutch (old, similar here)
This Julia Jordan dress is conservative yet still eye-catching with the most gorgeous floral print and subtle puff sleeves. When I looked back at these photos I think this dress would look even better with a belt for some added waist definition. While I dressed this up with gold sandals, you could dress it down with booties for a more casual wedding vibe. Wearing XS – runs TTS.
Dress 7 // Park or Garden Wedding
Dress | Sandals (similar here) | Clutch, (old similar here)
Bright, poppy florals, tiered skirt, ruffle sleeves – it’s hard to wear this dress and not smile. This is a faux style wrap dress – the waist is elastic so you put in on over your head. Similar to dress 6, you can play around with shoes to make it more dressy/casual. Would look awesome with tall boots. Wearing XS, runs TTS. Under $100!
Dress 8 // Wedding at a gorgeous estate/mansion
Dress | Shoes | Clutch (old, similar here)
Are we seeing a trend here? Cut-outs are EVERYWHERE and if I had to choose a spot for a cut-out, it would be the upper tummy. This dress is similar to dress number three, but a little fancier and more expensive. The satin fabric and twist-front detail, makes it a bit more luxe and sophisticated. Works best with a strapless or adhesive bra (or none!)… Wearing size 2, runs TTS.
Dress 9 // Find any wedding so you have an excuse to wear this dress.
Dress | Shoes | Clutch (old, similar here)
Oh the ways I love this dress. This dress is by the same designer as number 8, Shona Joy. This dress provides a little more coverage with the gorgeous sleeves but the same peek of skin with a similar cut-out. The fabric is STUNNING, but if you are planning to work up a sweat on the dance-floor, maybe go with a darker color
